Women in Philanthropy

Connecting women who give.

Women in Philanthropy brings together women who are giving, or who are curious about giving, and want to deepen their understanding of philanthropy, community needs, and the nonprofit landscape in McHenry County.

Through meaningful conversations, educational opportunities, and connections with others who care about our community, participants explore what philanthropy can mean in their own lives and how thoughtful giving can create lasting change. Women in Philanthropy is intended to support and inspire individuals in their personal philanthropic journey. The program focuses on learning, connection, and community impact through the lens of philanthropy, rather than professional development or organizational fundraising.

At the heart of this initiative is the Women’s Fund Endowment, a permanent granting endowment established to support women and girls in McHenry County forever. Together, participants are helping build a legacy of generosity, leadership, and opportunity for generations to come.

Building the Women’s Fund Endowment

The Women’s Fund Endowment was created alongside Women in Philanthropy to provide lasting support for women and girls in McHenry County. As a permanent fund, it will continue to grow over time and provide grants year after year, helping meet needs today while building resources for the future.
