Inaugural $25,000 Grant Opportunity from The Women’s Fund Announced

The Community Foundation for McHenry County is thrilled to announce the opening of the grant application process for the inaugural $25,000 grant from The Women’s Fund, a fund dedicated to supporting women and girls in McHenry County.

Tax-exempt organizations and initiatives serving women and/or girls in McHenry County are invited to apply. This exciting opportunity can be used to support new or existing programs that improve the lives of local women and girls. The grant application is available at https://thecfmc.org/receive/grants. The application is open through June 1, 2025.

The Women’s Fund represents a permanent investment in the future of women and girls in our community. As an endowed fund, it will continue to grant in perpetuity, expanding its impact year after year. The Community Foundation is still actively growing the fund, and donations are warmly welcomed.

“It is a great honor to launch the Women’s Fund and to take this meaningful step toward a lasting legacy for women and girls in McHenry County,” said Jessica Rizza, Director of Philanthropy at The Community Foundation for McHenry County. “We are beyond grateful for the initial support and look forward to growing this fund and increasing impact over time.”

An added benefit: Gifts to The Women’s Fund may qualify for the Illinois Gives Tax Credit, offering a 25% state income tax credit to eligible donors.

“The Foundation believes so strongly in the power and promise of this fund that we are proudly providing the $25,000 inaugural grant. Every person who has made or will make a donation to the Women’s Fund helps grow the endowment and ensures continued support for future generations,” said Amy Hernon, Executive Director of The Community Foundation for McHenry County.
