New Board Member Follows in Father’s Footsteps

The Community Foundation for McHenry County Board of Directors Welcomes Cormier

(Crystal Lake, IL) While Robert Cormier, Jr., may be the newest member of The Community Foundation for McHenry County’s Board of Directors, he is already quite familiar with their work. Cormier’s father, Robert Cormier, Sr., was a founding member of the Foundation’s board when it first convened in the summer of 2001 in Woodstock. Nearly two decades later, the younger Cormier is pleased to carry on his father’s legacy.

“As a son, I am proud my dad was part of a team that ushered in a new era of philanthropic giving in McHenry County. As a resident, I’m thankful for the work he and many other civic-minded citizens did to make The Community Foundation what it is today—a robust and transformative network of neighbors helping neighbors,” said Cormier.

Cormier is the Executive Vice President of Home State Bank with its headquarters in Crystal Lake, IL. He resides in Crystal Lake with his wife and has four children. Prior to joining Home State Bank, he received a degree in Finance and Management from Northeast Missouri State University.  He also has an M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University and is a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School and the Graduate School of Banking.

“We are thrilled to have Robert join our board. In addition to being a second-generation member with a deep appreciation of the Foundation’s history and mission, he brings a fresh perspective and valuable financial insight to benefit our donors and the local causes they support,” said Steve MiddaughBoard Chair.

Cormier has also served in numerous leadership roles related to education, Illinois Banking, Hospice, Crystal Lake Police Pension Board, Light of the World Evangelization Ministry and St. Thomas Catholic Church.
