Amy Hernon brings over 25 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit leadership to her role as Executive Director of The Community Foundation for McHenry County. A proud graduate of Lake Forest College and Leadership Greater McHenry County, Amy is deeply committed to advancing local philanthropy and driving community transformation.

Amy’s expertise includes nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, donor relations, campaign development, and board governance. She firmly believes in the power of local giving to create lasting impact and improve the quality of life across McHenry County.

Outside of work, Amy is a proud mother of four, an active member of her church, and an avid adventurer who enjoys traveling, especially to the West, and spending time outdoors. You’ll often find her with a good book and a cup of coffee in hand.
