2025 Philanthropy Day Celebration

On November 15, 2025, The Community Foundation for McHenry County proudly hosted a celebration in honor of National Philanthropy Day, an evening dedicated to recognizing the generosity, partnership, and shared commitment that enrich our community. Surrounded by friends, donors, and community partners, the event served as a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of giving that creates lasting impact across McHenry County.

During the celebration, The Community Foundation reflected on the past year’s accomplishments and extended sincere gratitude to everyone who has played a role in advancing our mission. Thanks to the collective generosity of our donors, The Community Foundation invests approximately $1.5 million each year into initiatives and services that strengthen our county. These investments transform lives, build capacity, and help ensure a bright future for all who call McHenry County home.

The evening also shined a spotlight on one of our Transformational Grant recipients. In 2024, The Community Foundation awarded the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court a Transformational Grant to support the Economic Benefit of Integrating Employment Interventions program. An innovative specialty court initiative designed to promote advocacy, accountability, and opportunity. The program helps justice-impacted individuals rebuild their lives through meaningful employment. Kelly Scimeca, Director of the Office of Special Projects, shared how the Foundation’s support has significantly expanded their capacity, demonstrating the powerful role access, employment, and community partnership play in creating brighter futures right here in McHenry County.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of our 2025 Philanthropists of the Year, Wayne and Amber Jett. Their dedication to community shines through their generous contributions of time, talent, and resources. Seeing an opportunity to create more family-friendly spaces that bring people together, Wayne and Amber founded the Rise Up Foundation, which focuses on enhancing public spaces for McHenry residents to enjoy and connect. As parents of four and deeply committed community builders, they continue to inspire others through their leadership, vision, and unwavering belief in a vibrant and welcoming McHenry. A big congratulations to Wayne and Amber.

The Community Foundation for McHenry County extends its deepest gratitude to all donors, partners, and friends who make this work possible. Your continued investment in our county’s future ensures that generosity remains a cornerstone of our community. We appreciate your support and collaboration as we work to strengthen McHenry County for generations to come.
