The Community Foundation for McHenry County Achieves National Accreditation

The Community Foundation for McHenry County (CFMC) is proud to announce that we have received accreditation through the Community Foundations National Standards program. This recognition signifies that CFMC meets the highest standards for philanthropic excellence, transparency, and accountability.

“This is a significant accomplishment for our organization,” said Amy Hernon, Executive Director. “When donors choose to work with us, whether establishing a fund, making a charitable gift, or planning a legacy, they can do so with confidence knowing we meet rigorous national standards for donor services, investment management, grantmaking, and administration.”

The National Standards accreditation process is comprehensive and rigorous, requiring community foundations to document and demonstrate sound policies and practices. CFMC’s work was reviewed by an independent panel of experts as part of this national program, affirming our commitment to long-term sustainability and excellence.

This milestone reflects our deep commitment to serving McHenry County with integrity and building lasting trust with our donors, partners, and nonprofit organizations. It reinforces that CFMC is a trusted and proven place to give, right here in our community.

We are grateful to our donors, partners, and community members who make this work possible.
